Elfrieda (Bartels) Lampe was born September 7, 1904, at Bremen, Kansas.
   She was baptized September 21, 1904, at Bethlehem Lutheran Church, Bremen,
   Kansas, and confirmed March 24, 1918, at Bethlehem Church. She was married
   at the same church May 26, 1927, to Walter Lampe of Nashville, Kansas, by
   Pastor J.V. Kauffeld.
     They moved to Nashville and were members of St. John's all their lives.
   Walter farmed and was a carpenter until his health failed and he passed 
   away at his home July 10, 1971.
     Elfrieda raised her family of six children; then she cooked at Isabel
   and Willowdale schools and Nashville Hospital for twenty-two yeras. She
   lived in Nashville for twenty-five years before her health failed and
   she has lived at Hilltop Manor, Cunningham, Kansas, since 1987. She belongs
   to st. John's Ladies Aid.
     The first of their six children was Vera, born April 15, 1928. She 
   married Alvin Westerman, who farms near Zenda. They have one son, Melvin,
   who married Melisa Cole. They hve two children, Tyler and Taryn.
     Merlin Lampe, born May 3, 1932, married Rachel Staats. He was a Farm
   Bureau adjuster for thirty-two years. They had five children: Pam, Anita,
   Robyn, Kevin and David, who passed away at age five in 1970.
     Aloah, born May 11, 1935, married Robert Scheib; they farm near Dighton,
   Kansas. They have four children: Joyce, Wayne, Roger and Robert.
     Wendell Lampe, born August 4, 1937, married Sue Beal and lived at Great
   Bend. They had two children, John and Kerry. Wendell passed away May 4, 1988.
     Glenda, born June 22, 1940, married Don Row of Grandview, Missouri. They
   have two children, Sherri and Howard.
     Judy, born March 2, 1943, married Richard Dunn and lives at Great Bend.
   They ahve two children, Jana and Ryan.
     Elfrieda has sixteen grandchildren and nineteen great-grandchildren. She
   enjoys her family and handwork of quilting, crocheting and tatting as well
   as visiting with friends.
