Dale Laverentz & Marie (Hoyer) Laverentz


     Marie Laverentz was born March 8, 1920, at Nashville, Kansas, one of four
   children born to August and Clara (Windler) Hoyer. She was baptized in 1920
   in St. John's Lutheran Church, Nashville, Kansas, by Pastor F.C. Duecker
   and confirmed March 25, 1934, by Pastor P.G. Krause.
     Dale Laverentz was born July 10, 1920, at home at Isabel, Kansas, one of
   six children born to William and Anna (Wehling) Laverentz. He was baptized
   August 1, 1920, at home by Pastor F.C. Duecker and was confirmed in St.
   John's Lutheran Church in 1949 by the Rev. Herman Seyfert.
     Dale and Marie were married December 29, 1942, in Nashville Lutheran
   Church by the Rev. Oscar Mueller. Their children are Kenneth William, born
   December 31, 1944; Bernard Duane, born December 23, 1948; and Ricky Lynn, 
   born August 26, 1955. Dale was serving in World War II and they were married 
   when he was home on Furlough. He served a year in Europe and was there when 
   Kenneth was born.
     When he returned, they farmed and lived southwest of Isabel for more
   than twenty years.
     He died unexpectedly with a heart attack October 21, 1968, and is buried
   in the Lutheran Cemetery. Services were conducted by Pastor Merlyn Lohrke.
     After Dale's death, Marie moved to Isabel, Kansas, and worked at the Isabel
   State Bank sixteen and one-half years, retiring in 1985. She spends from
   October to April in Zapata, Texas.
     Kenneth was married to Rebecca Ricker in 1970 and they have one daughter,
   Jennifer, born March 13, 1974. Kenneth lives on the farm Dale and Marie
   lived on and his grandparents lived on. Bernard married Laurie Jones in 1980
   and lives in Lake Charles, Louisiana; he is manager of Chemical Waste
   Management. Ricky married Milissa Young in 1991; he custom cuts and applies
   fertilizer and lives in Isabel, Kansas, when they are here.
