Ruth Laverentz was born April 8, 1915, at Pratt, Kansas, the eldest of
   four children born to August and Clara (Windler) Hoyer. She was baptized 
   in April at St. John's in Nashville and confirmed in 1930 by Pastor P.G.
   Krause. She went to the Lutheran School in Nashville and the high school
   and graduated in 1934. That year she went to Halstead Hospital and graduated
   as an RN in 1937.
     Ruth married Earl Laverentz May 28, 1938, after years of friendship. His
   mother and her mother were childhood friends. Earl was born September 20,
   1916, on the farm south of Isabel and baptized at home by the Rev. Meyer.
   His parents were William Laverentz and Anna (Wehling) Laverentz. He was
   the third child in the family of four boys and two girls. He was confirmed
   and joined the Lutheran Church in 1939 by the Rev. Mueller in Nashville.
     They made their home in Nashville, Anthony, Hutchinson and Isabel and
   moved back to Nashville to retire. They were blessed with twin daughters
   on August 26, 1939, at the Nashville Hospital; the twins were Dr. Waylan's
   first babies born at Nashville.
     The girls are Joyce and Janice Laverentz; they were baptized in September
   by the Rev. Mueller and confirmed in 1954 by the Rev. Herman Seyfert.
     Joyce married Fred Nolting at the chapel in Manhattan, the Kansas State
   College campus, in 1962. They have two childen: Scott Lawrence Nolting, 
   born September 5, 1964; and Leslie Renee Nolting, born October 19, 1967. 
   Scott married Ronda Hudson May 18, 1982, and they have Adam JOhn, born
   June 39, 1985, and Kasi, born March 6, 1990.
     Leslie married Brian P. Kaumo June 19, 1991, in Rock Springs, Wyoming.
   They are now living in Laramie, Wyoming.
     Janice married R.C. Dixon at Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Pratt,
   October 5, 1967; they have three children and live in Wellington, Kansas.
     Steven Dixon was born Juoy 13, 1958; he married Carolyn in 1977 and they 
   were divorced in 1981. He married Maggie Peters in November 1983 and they 
   have four children: Ian Dixon, born June 20, 1978; Clair Dixon, born July
   17, 1982; Cairlin, born NOvember 23, 1985; and Luke Dixon born April 16,
   1987.
     Sherri Dixon, born August 26, 1960, married Pat Burton June 6, 1981, and 
   they have two daughters, Lauren Burton, born April 14, 1983; and Lisa Burton,
   born April 29, 1985. They live in Crowley, Texas.
     Susan Dixon, born August 6, 1961, married Bob Cusack May 18, 1985, and 
   they have one son, Chase William Cusack, born April 10, 1992. They live in
   Kansas City.
