Edward H. Lawrence & Fonda Kay (Ricke) Lawrence
St. John's was our family home church; therefore, as a child, I attended
Sunday School and church at St. John;s and was confirmed there. Later,
after moving from my birth palce at Isabel to Medicine Lodge, Kansas, I
became a member of Trinity Lutheran Church there.
I graduated from Medicine Lodge High School and from Emporia State
University, Emporia, Kansas, with a BS in Education. I married Fonda K.
Ricke and started a high school teaching career in Agra, Kansas (four years),
moving to Norton, Kansas, from Agra and teching there twenty-three years.
After my twenty-seven years as a high school instructor, I begana design
and construction firm which I am presently heading.
My wife and I were blessed with the birth of two children, Paul in 1960
and Shawna in 1963, who are both graduates of Norton Community High School,
Norton, Kansas, and Kansas State University, Manhattan, Kansas. They are
both blessed with successful careers.
While I was teaching in Agra, our family attended St. John's Lutheran
Church at Kensington, Kansas. After moving to Norton, we became members of
Immanuel LUtheran Church were our children were confirmed and where we are
still members.
