Sheldon Laverne Lawrence & Pattie Lawrence
Sheldon Lawrence was born at the family home one-half mile north of
Nashville, Kansas, on February 17, 1936. He was baptized and confirmed
at St. John's Lutheran Church and graduated from Nashville High School;
St. John's College, Winfield, Kansas; and Concordia Teachers College,
Seward, Nebraska. He received his master's degree from the University
of Missouri.
There are five children in the family: Shawn, born in 1962; Todd, 1967;
Jason, 1970; Eric, 1975; and Cassandra, 1980.
Having been a teacher and technical writer in Missouri and a state
consultant for libraries in Arizona, he is now semi-retired and resides
with his wife Patti and two youngest children in Kealakekua, Hawaii, where
his is assistant manager of a plant nursery.
He is a member of Lutheran Church of the Holy Trinity and serves as
choir member, Sunday School teacher and chairman of the Board of Deacons.
His spare time is spent jogging, traveling, camping and relaxing on the
beach.
