Dorothy Steffen was born March 24, 1930, one of six children born to John
   and Anna Steffen of Cunningham, Kansas. She was baptized and confirmed in
   St. John's Lutheran Church, Nashville, Kansas.
     Alan Clair McElwain was born September 17, 1928, to Richard A. and Vesta
   V. McElwain at Mullinville, Kansas. Clair has been a member of Mullinville
   Methodist Church all of his life (formerly Evangelical United Brethren
   Church).
     Clair and Dorothy were married October 24, 1948, at the St. John's
   Lutheran Church, Nashville. They still live on the farm near Mullinville
   where Clair was born. Clair is now retired from farming because of his health.
     They have four children.
     Chris Alan was born January 1950. He married Diane Schmitt in March 1982
   and they live in Dodge City with sons Tim, Matt, Adam and Andrew.
     Lanita Kay was born in March 1951. She married Gary Lukens in June 1970.
   They live in Shawnee, Kansas, with their four hcildren, Greg, Kristy, Vanessa 
   and Todd.
     Rhonda Lyn was born iN May 1954 and at the present time lives in El Dorado,
   Kansas.
     Thomas Craig was born in April 1963 and now lives in Topeka, Kansas.
     We have lived on the same farm all of our married lives. We are members of
   the United Methodist church in Mullinville, Kansas.
