Arnold T.P. Mindt & Marie (Kahmeyer) Mindt
Arnold T.P. Mindt came to Kansas with his stepfather and mother, Adam and
Dorothea (Hofner) Mindt Naasz, and family on March 3, 1923, when he was
thirteen and one-half years old. He was born August 27, 1909, in Zeeland,
North Dakota, of German and Romanian ancestors, the son of Jacob and Dorothea
(Hofner) MIndt. Arnold's father died in September 1916 in North Dakota.
On January 1, 1939, Arnold married Marie Kahmeyer, who was born May 5, 1910.
They lived on a farm three miles south and one-half mile east of Nashville
until Arnold died on May 4, 1982. Marie continued living on the farm until
the fall of 1984 when she moved into Nashville where she now lives.
Marie and Arnold had one daughter, Arnola Mae, born February 10, 1946. She
now lives in Gillette, Wyoming.
Arnold and Marie both sang in the church choir for many years. Arnold
taught Sunday School for years and was also an elder. Marie taught Vacation
Bible School for ten years.
