Richard Roy Morisse & Barbara (Clemmer) Morisse
Richard Morisse was born February 16, 1929, the eldest child of Roy and
Ruby (Steele) Morisse. He was baptized and confirmed in St. John's Lutheran
Church. Richard and Barbara met in September 1951 at a Walther League Rally
in Nashville. They were married in Holy Cross Lutheran Church in Wichita
August 29, 1954; it was Barbara's home church.
At St. John's Richard served as head usher and as Sunday School Super-
intendent; he sang in the church choir and was a member of the Men's Club.
While he was living in Nashville, he served on the school board, was a
charter member of the Lion's Club and assisted coaching baseball teams.
Barbara taught Sunday Bible Schools, sang in the church choir and belonged
to the Dorcas Society.
Their three children were born in Nashville and baptized in St. John's.
Randy, born October 1955, is a car salesman. He lives in Skiatok, Oklahoma,
with his wife Iona and children Jeromy, Ashley and Jacob.
Sandy, born January 1959, is a teacher and organist at Redeemer Lutheran
Church. She lives in Arkansas City, Kansas, with her husband Boone Tope and
daughter Audra.
Janet, born December 1959, is in computer sales. She lives in the Wichita
area with her husband Gaylord Hinshaw and son Eric.
Richard and Barbara farmed in Nashville for seventeen years and have lived
in Anthony, Kansas, since 1971. They are semi-retired and are active members
of Zion Lutheran Church in Argonia, Kansas.
