Alvin Pearce & JoAnn F. (Lampe) Pearce
JoAnn Lampe was born at Nashville, Kansas, January 5, 1934, to Earnest
and Hazel Lampe (Wilkins); she has one sister, Mary Lou (Lampe)(Kettering)
Fetterman. She went to the grade school and Lutheran school at Nashville
and to high school at Pratt High School, Pratt, Kansas, graduating in 1951.
JoAnn married Alvin Pearce at Clayton, New Mexico, September 22, 1952.
They have seven children: Don, Judy, Kathy, Rob, Debra, Tammy and Pam. They
have twenty grandchildren and one great-granddaughter. The grandchildren
vary in age twenty-one (Mike, who is serving in the Marines at this time
and is stationed in Hawaii) to two (our youngest, Felix).
Alvin has worked for L&M Contractors for thirty years. We have traveled
with him to each construction site for several years, then settled in
Hutchinson for about eight years. Then the family moved with Alvin again
when several of the kids were going through teenage years at the same time.
Once again they settled, this time in Pratt, where they are living today
and hoping to retire in about two years.
