Dave Elmer Prater & Sharon (Westerman) Prater


     Sharon Westerman Prater was born September 3, 1945, at Nashville, Kansas,
   the youngest child born to Henry Westerman and Edna (Kalthoff) Westerman.
   She was baptized September 23, 1945, in St. John's Lutheran Church, Nashville,
   Kansas, by Pastor O.L. Mueller and confirmed on May 17, 1959, by Pastor Jack
   Amen. She graduated from St. John's Lutheran school on May 22, 1959. The
   principal was Kenneth Eickmeyer.
     Dave Prater was born October 10, 1941, at Pueblo, Colorado, the child of
   Virginia (Jenkins) Prater and George Prater. He was baptized in the Christian
   Church at Pratt, Kansas, and became a member of Our Savior's Lutheran Church
   in Pratt, Kansas, in October 1964.
     Dave and Sharon were married September 5, 1964, at St. John's Lutheran
   Church, Nashville, Kansas, by the Rev. Merlyn Lohrke. Their children are
   Constance Marie, born November 11, 1967, and Christina Joann, born February
   13, 1971.
     Sharon was organist at St. John's, Nashville, Kansas; Our Savior's, Pratt,
   Kansas; and Grace Lutheran, Liberal, Kansas. She was active in the adult
   ladies' hand bell choir at Zion Lutheran, Brighton, Colorado. She was organist
   for the wedding of the Rev. Merlyn Lohrke and Loetta (Westerman) Lohrke at
   St. John's, Nashville, Kansas.
     Dave spent four years in the United States Navy with time served in Japan
   and Vietnam. After the service, he was a mechanic in Pratt, Kansas; Liberal,
   Kansas; and Brighton, Colorado. He was a member of the men's club and played
   an active role with school activities at Zion Lutheran School, Brighton,
   Colorado, where both chilren attended elementary school.
     In 1989, Sharon was transferred by Panhandle Eastern Pipe company from
   Brighton, Colorado, to Howell, Missorui, and Dave works in maintenance at 
   Taylor's Beach Campground.
