Susan Shannon was the third child born to Robert Paul and Eleanor Ella
   (Pagenkopf) Mattal of Nashville. Her older brothers are Robert Paul Jr.,
   and Charles Fred, both of Pratt.
     Susan married Rodger Eckell on February 6, 1969, and moved to Wichita
   to work and go to school. Both attended Wichita State University. After
   graduating from WSU, Susan taught there for eight years.. They transferred
   their membership to Holy Cross Lutheran Church in Wichita in 1972. They have
   one daughter, Stephanie Renee. Stephanie married Tod Adams in 1990 and they
   live in Wichita.
     Susan remarried in 1978. She and Jack live in southeast Wichita. Susan
   completed a Phd from Kansas State University in 1987 and is a training
   consultant for Boeing Computer Services. Jack is a manager in Human Resources
   for the Boeing Company.
     They enjoy being involved in community projects, teaching and traveling.
