Henry Westerman & Edna A. (Kaltholf) Westerman


     Edna A. Westerman was born June 9, 1907, at Alma, Missouri, daughter of
   Henry and Anna (Mueller) Kaltholf. She was baptized June 16, 1907, at
   Trinity Lutheran Church, Alma, Missouri, and confirmed April 9, 1922 by
   Pastor A. Grisse.
     Henry Westerman was born October 31, 1895, at Marshall County, Bremen,
   Kansas, son of John and Fredericka Westerman. He was baptized November 10,
   1895, at Bethlehem Lutheran Church by Pastor G. Polach.
     Henry moved to Zenda in the early twenties. After the death of his first
   wife, he married Edna Kaltholf on July 20, 1930, at the Lutheran Church in
   Alma, Missouri. He brought her to his farm south of Zenda where he and his
   son Harold and daughter Vera had been living.
     They were both active members of St. John's Lutheran Church in Nashville.
   He belonged to Men's Club and LLL and she belonged to Ladies Aid and LWML.
   Their hobbies were fishing and gardening.
     Their children and spouses are Harld and Ethel (Helmke) of Nashville, 
   Kansas; Vera and Ernest Vogts of Madison, Kansas; Ralph and Monita (Howell)
   of Nashville, Kansas; Lucille and Kenneth Wiens of Cimarron, Kansas; Cecil
   and Elizabeth (Kuehn) of Zenda, Kansas; and Sharon and Dave Prater of
   Howell, Michigan. There are seventeen grandchildren and fifteen great
   grandchildren.
     In 1965 they retired and moved to Nashville, Kansas. After fifty-two
   years of marriage, Henry died October 28, 1983, at the age of 87.
     Edna lives in the Nashville community. She is busy with quilting, 
   sewing, gardening and family.
