Mark Harold Westerman & Patricia Joyce (Bernhardt) Westerman


     Mark was born in Kingman, Kansas, NOvember 6, 1952, the son of Harold and
   Ethel (Helmke) Westerman. He was baptized and confirmed at St. John's.
     Joyce is the daughter of Edward and Marie (Schwab) Bernhardt of Hudson,
   Colorado. She was born December 25, 1953, in Denver, Colorado.
     Mark and Joyce met in Emporia, Kansas, at the wedding of Mark's cousin
   and Joyce's college roommate where Joyce was organist and Mark was an
   usher. They were married August 6, 1978, at Grace Lutheran Church in Hudson,
   Colorado.
     Their daughter, Brittany Marie Westerman, was born March 18, 1992, and 
   baptized by Pastor McMullin on Easter Sunday, April 19, 1992. She is currently
   the youngest member of St. John's.
     Mark worked for Zenda Grain and Supply as feed truck driver and then
   branch manager of Nashville Coop for fifteen years. He attended Wichita
   Aviation VoTech School and earned his A&P license to work as a mechanic on
   airplanes. He is presently employed as Mr. Mom.
     Joyce taught school at St. Paul's Lutheran, Arlington, Nebraska, for
   three  years, moved to Zenda after the marriage and substitue taught for
   three years. She now works full time for Unified School District #332 and 
   has for twelve years. She teaches second grade at Zenda Grade School.
     Mark's special interests and hobbies include coin collecting, reading
   and wood construction.
     Joyce's interests include music, playing piano, organ and guitar, reading
   and taking care of Brittany.
     Mark has been Sunday School superintendent and LLL district vice president.
   He is now AAL treasurer and LLL district president.
     Joyce palys organ and is on the Board of Education. She has been a choir
   member and accompaniest and a Sunday School teacher and VBS music teacher.
   She has also worked with the youth group.
     Mark's ancestors were German and Joyce's grandparents were all Germans
   from Russia who settled in Colorado.
