William Westerman & Mary (Peters) Westerman
William Westerman, the eldest child of Johannie Fredrick and Friederika
Wilhemia Oldenberg Westerman, was born July 19, 1891, in Marshall County,
Kansas. He was baptized July 26, 1891, at Hermansburg and confirmed April
16, 1905, at Trinity.
He was a Nashville resident since 1913, moving from Washington. He served
as an elder and on the school board and was a member of Men's Club.
William died March 22, 1985, and is buried in the Lutheran Cemetery,
Nashville.
Mary Peters, the eldest child of William and Sophia Dicke Peters, was
born December 20, 1900, in Lanham, Nebraska. She was baptized at Trinity
and confirmed May 14, 1916, at St. John's by the Rev. H.F. Meyer.
She came to Kingman County in 1909.
William and Mary were married May 2, 1920, by Pastor F.C. Duecker at St.
John's. She was a member of the Ladies Aid since 1928.
Mary died October 2, 1978, and is buried in Lutheran Cemetery, Nashville.
To this union five children were born: Laverne, a daughter who died in
infancy, Earl, Wilma and Ilene. They had ten grandchildren.
They were married fifty-eight years.
