Fredrick William Westerman & Carolyn Sue (James) Westerman


     Fredrick was born to Fred and Hulda (Hensiek) Westerman on their farm in
   Barber County on July 13, 1930. He was baptized as an infant and confirmed
   May 1944 in St. John's Lutheran Church. He attended Lutheran School for 
   seven years, sometimes walking the four and one-half miles, riding a bicycle
   or riding in a horse-drawn two-wheel cart.
     He transferred to Isabel and graduated in the Calss of 1948. Fredrick was
   in National Guard for three years. He has held offices in St.John's
   congregation, the Men's Club and the local branch of AAL Insurance.
     Sue was born March 24, 1935, in Peru, Kansas, to Carroll and Elaine (Heald)
   James. She was raised in Chautauqua County and graduated from Sedan High
   School in 1953. She was baptized int he First Christian Church in Sedan and
   confirmed at St. John's Lutheran Church in January 1957 by Pastor Seyfert.
     Fredrick and Sue were married February 26, 1956, at Pratt. They have three
   daughters and presently have four grandchildren which are a joy in their
   lives.
     Dena is married to Keith Depenbusch. They live near Harper, Kansas, and 
   have two children, Mindy and Shane. Jana is married to Todd Green. They live
   in Zenda, Kansas, and have two sons, Tyler and Zachery. Shelly is a junior
   at Kansas State University in Manhattan.
     Fredrick and Sue onw and live on the farm where Grandmother Westerman
   raised her family. Fredrick started farming at an early age and continues
   to farm. Sue is employed by Pro Stitch Designs, Inc. in Pratt.
