Gary Westerman was born August 15, 1946, at Nashville, Kansas, the son of
   Wilbert and Thelma (Laverentz) Westerman. Gary was baptized August 25, 1946,
   and confirmed June 5, 1960, at St. John's Lutheran Church. He grew up on the
   farm east of Nashville and attended grade school at the St. John's Parochial
   School and attended Nashville High School.
     Gary met Lleanna Kalb at the wedding of her sister and Gary's cousin in
   May 1971. They were married September 9, 1973, at St. Paul's Lutheran Church
   at Trescott, Kansas. She transferred her church membership to St. John's in
   October 1973.
     Lleanna was born August 23, 1955, at Lincoln, Kansas, daughter of John
   and Delma (Reinert) Kalb. She was baptized September 11, 1955, and confirmed
   March 30, 1969, at St. Paul's. Lleanna grew up on a farm west of Trescott
   and attended grade and high school at Trescott.
     Gary ahd Lleanna have a daughter, Shelley Lea, born June 23, 1976, at
   Medicine Lodge, Kansas. She was baptized July 18, 1976, and confirmed June
   3, 1990, at St. John's. She attended Kingman High School. She is a member
   of St. John's Youth Group and Sunday School and enjoys the outdoors, music,
   helping with VBS and the nursery-kindergarten Sunday School class at St.
   John's.
     Gary and Lleanna have been engaged in farming since their marriage. Gary
   serves as an usher for St. John's and has been the Nashville-Liberty
   Township Fire Chief and a Nashville city councelman and city employee since
   1977.
     Lleana teaches the nursery-kindergarten Sunday School class at St. John's
   and has taught VBS. She is also employed at Figge Bennett in Nashville.
     Gary and Lleanna moved into their home adjacent to St. John's in Nashville
   in September 1973.
     Gary enjoys a clock hobby and fishing. Lleanna enjoys singing and music.
   They both enjoy the outdoors and being with family and friends.
