George Lewis Westerman & Amanda Annie Caroline (Hensiek) Westerman
Amanda was born June 6, 1907, at Blackburn, Missouri, to William and
Katharina (Mueller) Hensiek. She was baptized at Evangelical Lutheran,
Blackburn, Missouri. She moved to Nashville in 1909 and was confirmed
at St. John's Lutheran, Nashville, in 1921. She was one of eight children:
Ted, Frieda, Edna, Hulda, William, Ervin and Erna.
George Westerman was born September 12, 1905, at Hanover, Kansas to John
and Friedariak (Oldenberg) Westerman. He was baptized at Trinity Lutheran at
Hanover, Kansas. He moved to Nashville in 1913 and was confirmed at St.John's,
Nashville, in 1920. He was one of nine children: William, John, Henry, Lizzie,
Anna, Martha, Fred and Christina.
George and Amanda were married February 26, 1928, at Amanda's parents' home
at Nashville.
They have three children. LaVera of Canton, Kansas, was born November 21,
1931. She married Richard Vogts and they have four boys. Jeffery lives in
Sublette, Kansas; Kelly, McPherson; and Verlin and Milton, Canton, Kansas.
Bernita was born July 6, 1935; she married Edward Heim of Canton, Kansas,
and they live in Benton. They have two children. Lee lives in Euclid, Ohio,
and Joycene lives in Wichita. George Vernon of Nashville was born October 20,
1940. He married Karran Lawrence and they have three children, Jerrod, Danielle
and Paul, all of Medicine Lodge, Kansas.
George and Amanda have nine grandchildren and four step-grandchildren. They
have lived their married life on a farm southwest of Zenda, Kansas.
