Dr. Daniel Decamp, DVM
Dan DeCamp lived in Woodbine from the early 1920's to about 1924 or 1925.
At that time he attended Kansas State College of Agriculture and Applied
Sciences and received a doctoral degree in veterinary medicine in 1929.
He began a 28 year career as poultry inspector for US Department of
Agriculture in Wichita, Kansas and on to New Jersey, where he continued his
practice in veterinary medicine in the state.
He was employed by the Bureau of Medicine for the Food and Drug Administration
until retirement.
He was married to Mae Stadler in early 1930. They had three sons, Russell,
Howard and Roger.
Dan was born February 10, 1905 and died in August 1981 at Lawrence, KS.
While in Woodbine, Dan graduated from Woodbine High School in 1929. He
worked for farmers in the area to obtain funds to continue his education.
While attending Kansas State University, Dan roomed with Wesley Herren
and became life-time friends.
