The family of John and Emma Diekmann came to Woodbine in 1918 after Mr.
  Diekmann had passed away.
       Emma Tatge Diekmann was born July 26, 1879 at Hoag, Nebraska. She died
  August 31, 1953.
       Emma started a dress and millinery shop on south Main Street. Mrs. Gemeny
  sold out to her. She also was a dressmaker. Her family took over the management
  of the telephone office. Her family helped her.
       Her family consisted of Laura, who for sixteen years worked in the Citizens
  State Bank; Frieda, a beauty operator, now deceased; Paula, a nurse; Lula, Lily
  and Henry.
