Hans Dikomey began his contribution to Woodbine working in the family
blacksmith shop as an apprentice. The additional skills he acquired in the
US Navy added to his expertise and further contributed to the shop's ability
to meet the needs of the local residents.
While serving in the Navy, Hans Dikomey met and married Peggy. After
he completed his tour of duty in the Pacific, the couple returned to make
their home in Woodbine. This family also contributed to Woodbine's social
life. Hans was a charter member of the Lions Club and Peggy contributed her
vocal talents in community activities. In 1959 the Dikomey's moved to
Springfield, Virginia where they are presently located.
the Hans Dikomey's have one son, Tom. Tom and his wife, Sandy, make
  their home in Florida.
The Dikomey Blacksmith Shop was the place where Hans added his skills
together with his fathers to further Woodbine's progress.
