began his career of operating heaby equipment. He was in the U.S. Army Reserve
from 1962 until 1968.
Pete lived in Woodbine until 1969, when he married Judy (Connet) Warnica
of Abilene. She was born March 26, 1939, and had two sons, Brad C. Warnica and
Brian G. Warnica (see related stories).
Judy was a computer operator at Vacu-Blast Corporation for 10 years. They
resided in Abilene until 1972, when they moved to Woodbine and opened Fells

his soil conservation business. In 1978 they built a home on 6 acres south of
Woodbine, where they spend their summer months gardening. In 1982, Judy opened
the Ceramic Cottage in Herington.
Pete has been in charge of the annual fireworks display at Woodbine's
Fourth of July Celebration since 1974. Judy was a charter member of the Woodbine
Fourth of July group called the Sky Rockettes. She is currently vice-chairman
