Dale Hettenbach
Dale Kenneth Hettenbach, oldest son of Harve and Elizabeth (Liz) Hettenbach,
attended Woodbine School. Dale was active in sports and graduated with the class
of 1941. On November 12, 1950, he married Elaine E. Martsolf, sister of Marilyn
Martsolf Knopp, wife of Wayne Knopp. They lived north of Woodbine and then moved
to home farmstead northwest of Woodbine. They lived here until 1962 when they
moved to a small place southeast of Abilene.
Dale worked for J.B. Ehrsam & Sons Manufacturing at Enterprise, now C.E.
Raymond branch of Combustion Engineering.
He retired in 1985 after 21 years, due to health reasons.
Elaine has worked for the Abilene Schools Food Service for 10 years, the
last five as manager and baker at Garfield School. Prior to this she worked at
the Brown Memorial Home south of Abilene for 10 years.
Dale and Elaine are parents of three daughters. Connie Diane lives in Salina.
Judy Marlene, living in Miami, Florida, is married to Kenneth Bennett of Ellensburg,
Washington. He is in the United States Coast Guard. Linda Jean, single,living
in Emporia, Kansas.
Dale and Elaine are the proud grandparents of four grandchildren, two of which
are twins. Connie, the oldest daughter, has three daughters: twins, Amy Marie and
Angie Beth, born January 4, 1977 and Vicki Renee, born March 2, 1985. Judy their
second daughter, has a son, Jared Nathaniael, born June 22, 1979.
