Florence Fuller Hummel
Florence Fuller came to the Woodbine area in September of 1934 as a
teacher in the first, second and third grades in the Woodbine School.
During the school year Florence lived in the home of Anna Spellman and
Louise Ahrens. In June of 1935 she married Wilbur Hummel. They made their
home in the Lyona Community. On November 1, 1938 their son, Charles, was
born. In July of 1941 the family moved to a newly purchased farm three
miles west and two and one-half miles south of Woodbine.
Their son Charles and his wife Anita Altmann Hummel and their children
Roger and Robin live in a home on this same farm. After Wilbut's retirement
Charles took over the management of the cow herd and farm.
