Paul L. Jahnke
Paul L. Jahnke had a love for trucks so didn't follow in his father's
footsteps of carpentry. At age 16 he began driving a gasoline transport and
continued until failing health took him off the road July 1986.
Paul L. was married to Oneda Farres August 8, 1948. They had five
children. Three sons: Craig, Clark and Joel; and two daughters, Jennie and
Vickie. To these five children eleven children were born, six boys and five
girls. One boy, Christopher Paul Jahnke, died November 16, 1984 at age of one.
The Jahnke name should remain through their generation as three of the boys
carry the name.
Paul L. was also a city councilman and a volunteer fireman in Woodbine.
In May of 1978 he received a Kansas Motor Carriers safety award when he had
not had an accident in twenty years of driving.
