Lee Johnson was born at Solomon May 24, 1901, a son of Mr. and Mrs. Bill
  Johnson. They moved to Diamond Springs before coming to Woodbine in 1911. He 
  attended grade school and was active in sports, a member of a winning track
  team.
       He married Viola Dombrowski September 4, 1923. They had two sons, Bill
  and his wife Lorie who live in Derby, Kansas and Elmer who lives in Fort
  Worth, Texas. Bill has two children, Wayne and Kim, and Elmer has three sons
  Troy, Todd, and Tim. Bill served in the Air Force 21 years. Elmer is working
  for General Dynamics.
       Lee and Viola's home at one time was a hotel in the town site of Woodbine
  and was moved to their farm just south of town. Lee farmed until he became 
  affiliated with the Upland Insurance Company where he was an adjuster until he 
  retired.
       Lee served many years on the Liberty Township Board and also the Woodbine
  School Board.
       Lee passed away January 19, 1983. Viola now lives in Herington.
