Wayne Knopp
Wayne Knopp was born February 12, 1922, the oldest son of Carl F. and
Marie A. Oesterreich Knopp. He attended Libert Center school for eight years
and Woodbine High School four years, graduating with the class of 1940.
After graduation he helped his father farm except for a short time
spent working at Ft. Riley during the winter and spring of 1940 and 1941.
He met and married Doris Marilyn Martsolf from north of Abilene on
December 7, 1947. They moved to the Ferdinand Timm farm where they now
reside. Four children were born to this marriage: Glenda, Rodney, Janis,
and Mark.
Glenda Joyce, born July 25, 1952, married Marion Rowland October 13,
1973. they have one son, Scott Justin, born February 19, 1977.
Rodney Dean, born August 31, 1954, married Shawnie Britt June 13, 1973.
Son, Ryan Christopher, was born Nobember 14, 1973. Daughter, Nicole Renee,
was born Nobember 29, 1975. They divorced. Rodney married Beverly Spaulding
April 17, 1982. Beverly's son, Ron, was born November 27, 1969.
Janis Luann, born August 26, 1961, married Craig Reidlinger June 5, 1982.
They reside in Houston, Texas.
Mark Lynn, born December 14, 1962, married DeAn Miller on June 7, 1986.
They live in the house built by Mark's great grandmother, Albertine Knopp,
in 1924.
We have appreciated living in the Woodbine community, attending the
Methodist church, participating in 4-H and other community activities.
