Donnell (Don) and Loretta Langvardt came to Woodbine in 1945 to manage 
  the Woodbine Telephone office. They had two boys, Gary and Dean. Shirley was
  born March 9, 1947 after Donnell and Loretta came to Woodbine.
       Don drove the school bus and helped with the boys' basketball team. He
  also took care of the telephone line work.
       Dean and Gary both graduated from Woodbine High School.
       After Don passed away in November 1949, Loretta continued in the telephone
  office and enjoyed working the switchboard until August 1958. Louise Schmidt
  also worked for them until she retired.
       The family were all active in the Methodist Church.
