Clem Lueker
Clem and Florence (Longhofer) Lueker were married in 1935. They lived
four miles west of Woodbine. Their children are Florine and Gaylon. From
there they moved to Lost Springs where they farmed. In 1938 they moved to
Woodbine where Clem and his brother, Werner, operated a garage which was
located where our present cafe is. At that time they lived where Gertie
Timm now lives. Then they moved to a farm just across the highway, north
of town, where they operated a dairy.
Clem's parents, Fred and Augusta Lueker, had the dairy before they did.
Clem and Florence had the dairy for seventeen years.
In 1959 Clem, Florence, and Gaylon moved to Grants Pass, Oregon, where
Clem and Gaylon worked in a plywood mill. In 1961, Clem and Florence moved
back to Woodbine and bought the home is which they are still living. This
home had belonged to her parents, John and Mary Longhofer. Clem went back
to cattle and farming. When he retire, Gaylon took over the farming. Gaylon,
Jane, Mike, Ryan, and Suzanne live in Junction City.
