Allen and Marjorie Kohler Rech
Allen Rech and Marjorie Kohler Rech met at the Wichita Business College in 1934.
They were married in Wichita, December 5, 1936.
Allen worked as office manager for National Biscuit Company in Wichita, Muskogee,
Oklahoma and Tulsa, Oklahoma.
Allen and Marjorie came to Woodbine in 1946 to assist Marjorie's father, Ora
Kohler, in the Kohler Lumber Company. Ora Kohler passed away in 1953.
Allen Rech lost his life in a car-truck accident in August 1963. After the
accident Marjoire kept the lumber yard open with family help until April 1964. She
then hired Walter Barrett of Herington to manage the lumber yard. Walter Barrett
purchased the lumber yard in 1966. Marjorie still works part time as bookkeeper and
clerk.
Marjorie was born in Woodbine in the house where the Walter Barretts now live.
Except for the years 1934 through 1946, she has lived within the city limits of
Woodbine.
Allen and Marjorie had two daughters: Mrs. Clyde (D'Ann) gugler of Chapman, Kansas
and Mrs. R.W. (Lynette) Eddy of Junction City, Kansas.
