August Rohloff
August and Olga Rohloff and son, Loren, moved to Woodbine in 1934. They
rented the Tobaben house. Their daughter, Dorothy, was born in 1936 . They
bought the Ruckert house in 1945.
August worked for Rhiney Riffel in the elevator. He also managed the
Robinson Elevator a few years. He then went to work for J.B. Ehrsam and Sons
Manufacturing Company in Enterprise, Kansas for several years. He then worked
for Beech Aircraft at Delevan until it closed. He became Woodbine street and
maintenance man and also city marshall. He quit following a hear attack.
Olga worked at Mom's Cafe in Herington for seventeen years and at the
Herington Hospital as a nurses aid for eighteen years. She still works at the
hospital part time.
Loren is a grade school principal in Cody, Wyoming. He has three children,
two girls and a boy.
Dorothy lives in Manhattan and works in an office at Kansas State University.
She has three children, two boys and a girl.
