William Rohloff, son of John Christian Rohloff and Sophia Erickson, lived
1/2 mile north of the Immanuel Lutheran Church, Shady Brook. William Rohloff was
married to Anna Sophia Lawrenz June 17, 1896. They had eight sons: John, Louis,
Otto, Orval, Erwin, William; and two daughters Elda (Mrs. Elmer) Hettenbach and
Lora (Mrs. Milton) Hettenbach. They lived on the farm east of Woodbine, where
Herman and Amanda Kickhaefer now live. They moved to Woodbine in 1923, purchasing
the house which now belongs to Charles Hass, currently occupied by the Stralow
  family.
While on the farm, William did custom threshing with his Oil Pull Rumley
tractor. After moving to town, he did carpentry work and helped build the
Community Building which is now being rebuilt by Kenneth Stout, the banker. He
also helped build the housing at Camp Washunga.
