Anna Spellman

       Anna Spellman was born January 26, 1888 at Woodbine. Her parents were Mr. and Mrs.
  Fred Ahrens.
       She attended Enterprise Normal Academy and graduated in piano in 1911. She taught
  piano until 1955. She was church pianist for 40 years.
       She married Benjamin Spellman of Clay Center on June 15, 1916. They farmed at
  Sylvia, Kansas. Her husband passed away on September 15, 1916 just three months after 
  their marriage.
       Anna returned to Woodbine and lived with her sister Lousie. She clerked in a store
  for 26 years. Most of us will remember her at the Shank and Hiebert Grocery store.
       In 1953 she and Louise moved to Goodland to live with their brother Adolph. Adolph
  passed away on October 2, 1965. Louise passed away April 26, 1971. Anna passed away 
  October 12, 1979.
