Paul Turner
Paul and PHilena Turner and daughters, Loretta and Marcia, came to Woodbine in 1943.
A son, Paul Edgar, was born in Woodbine in 1946.
Paul worked at the Herington Air Base until June 1945 and was in the Air Force until
May 1946. He then worked for Engel Hardware until 1947. He was in partnership with G.V.
Middleton from 1947-1950. After leaving Woodbine in 1950, they had two more children,
Nancy and Mitchell.
Loretta Turner is married to a lawyer, Vard Johnson. He is in the legislature in
Lincoln, Nebraska. Loretta works for the University of Nebraska, Lincoln. She has a
Doctorate degree in history.
Marcia Brown has four children and is a teacher in the intermediate school system
in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Paul Edgar spent seven years in the Submarine Service for the United States. Paul
graduated from Georgia Tech University with a degree in nuclear engineering. He now works
with nuclear power plants in Sacramento, California. Paul has three children.
Nancy is granskeeper at the Wichita Country Club.
Mitchell served in the United States Navy six years. He works for Sperry Computers
in Wichita.
Paul and Philena feel their children received a good basic school training in Woodbine.
Philena belong to the Study Club. Paul helped with Boy Scouts and enjoyed playing softball
with the town team.
