Walter and Velma Weber
Walter Weber was born March 9, 1904, son of William Weber Jr. and Anna Lueker Weber.
Walter and Velma Weber were married March 19, 1933. Velma's maiden name was Whisman and
she came to Woodbine from Kampsville, Illinois. She worked in the restaurant for Roy
Maybee.
Walt helped with his father's garage and later he bought the filling station on the
corner by the ball diamond from Jack and Dorothy Reddy. He sold it to Bill and Hazel
Reddy in the late 1940's.
Walt and Velma then moved to Wichita.
Walt and Velma have one daughter, Marcene, who attended school in Woodbine and
graduated from Woodbine High School. She married Charles Gunter, son of Milton and
Margaret Gunter, of Woodbine.
Walt passed away March 28, 1980. Velma still lives in Wichita.
