The Whites and Mortons
Wesley C. White is the only son of Murris and Elizabeth White of Lumberton,
North Carolina. He was married once before, no children. He was stationed at
Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri when he met and married Goldie Fay (Wheeler)(Morton)
White. Goldie is one of six children of Orval and Pearl Wheeler of Fisk, Missouri
(both deceased). Two brothers and one sister make their home in Illinois. Two
brothers still live in Missouri.
She has three by a previous marriage and one son with Wes. Lin Morton, 26,
at home, Richard Steven Morton, 24, and his wife Alta making their home in
Woodbine now, Terry Lee Morton 19, at home, Wesley Clifton White Jr., 15, at
home.
We moved to Ft. Riley in 1976 and lived there for 7 years. Then we moved
to Woodbine, and have been living here for three years, and are currently
buying the property we live on.
After serving in the United States Army for 22 years and making the rank
of sergeant, Wes retired in May of 1986 and then went to work on Fort Riley
with a private contractor.
Goldie White is a homemaker and does craft work as a hobby.
Patricia Morton is a 1980 graduated of Junction City High School and
attended KSU for two years and has been working on Fort Riley for three years.
Richard and Alta MOrton were married August 14, 1986 and are now living
in the city of Woodbine.
Tery Lee Morton is a 1985 graduate of Junction City High School, and hopes
to use his ability for drawing as a future.
Wesley Clifton White Jr. is a freshman at Hope High School and plans on a
career in agriculture.
The Whites plan on spending most of their lives in the Woodbine area.
