Jacob Winters
The Jacob L. Winters family moved to the Woodbine area in 1934 from
Herington, Kansas. The family moved to the farm from Herington so that the
children could grew up in a "rural environment."
Five of the six Winters children attended the Woodbine Hihg Schoo. These
five included Albert, Esther, Evelyn, Richard and Melvin with Albert, Richard
and Melvin graduating from high school.
Although the Winters' moved to other areas during World War II, some of
the family retain close ties to the Woodbine community through marriages and
other Woodbine associations.
