Mine (built by Hiram Springstead, June 1847, SW1/4- SW1/4 35-36-4; Springstead School -aka Union School District 317 - Adams Twp, LaSalle County, Illinois 1847-1949) went dormant after its final classes in 1949. It sat empty until it was sold at auction in 1959. In 1988 it was sold to us.

there is an excellent example of a pristine 1850 schoolhouse in a Wildlife Prairie Park, west of Peoria IL. it was moved there in the pioneer buildings section.

I researched mine, then found & documented all the names & #s for the other county ORSH c1840-1900 in LaSalle County, IL.

I see on the ORSH website that you also include "Others" than Kansan. Here is one if you wish to use it.
