Susan Campbell visited Denver one summer and was impressed with the several of that city's museums. She obtained permission for us to share these three holdings of the Denver Museum of Natural History with you. The museum's notes on each work are supplemented with some of Susan's, in italics.

Moccasins - detail
Woodland Canada, 1930's. Potawatomie (sic). Wide, soft leather with one large mound-shape piece of beading on vamp 3-3/4" long, white ground with blue, green and orange flowers. Cuff has thin bead edge.
The flowers are opaque cobalt, the flower stamens are orange, and the leaves are greasy green. The beads in the second row of the white ground are periwinkle blue. The white strips around the ankle in this photo, which we took, are cotton ties the museum added to keep the form of the moccasin intact.
